Tips & Techniques for Effective Networking
- Set a goal of reaching out and connecting to a few contacts each week. Make time to pick up the phone or send a note to keep your network alive.
- Say "yes" and be open to all networking possibilities. You never know when or where the right opportunity will present itself.
- When attending a professional event, ask a question from the audience to make yourself known. Consider wearing a statement piece (big bangle bracelets, for example). This will help you stand out and attract others to you making your networking experience easier and more effective.
- Offer to help others who need it but to avoid becoming overwhelmed by the "asks," put the onus on those asking. Invite them to follow up with you to ask questions or address their need rather than taking it on yourself and adding to your "to do" list.
- Be bold, be brave in your approach to networking. Have courage and ask for what you want knowing that most people genuinely want to help if they can.
- Go to networking events solo on occasion to resist the urge to sit with friends and stay in your comfort zone. Set a goal of connecting with at least two new unknown people in the room.
- Wear something with pockets as this will help you keep your business cards handy and avoid the awkward juggle of your bag, your glass and whatever papers you may collect along the way.

Who is Little Miss Perfect?
She’s you. She’s me. She’s the woman beside you, and the woman that exists inside you.
She’s the incessant, negative chatter that exists in your head and tells you that you, as you are, will never be enough.
Little Miss Perfect is the voice within that is begging to be accepted and screams in terror when asked to step away from her comfort zone. She’s filled with fear, doubt and self-criticism. Buried within all of us is a Little Miss Perfect.
But wearing that label keeps you from being who you want to be, the woman you know you are within. That label keeps you from saying the things you want to say, and keeps you from chasing after your dreams. For so long, she’s been hiding under false perceptions, keeping you from living the life you’re meant to live. And up until now, she’s kept you from being all that you’re destined to become in this lifetime.
But, Little Miss Perfect, you have permission to take back your power.
Are you ready to let your Little Miss Perfect roam free?
We unpacked all of this and much more in an intimate conversation with Melissa Fino, author of the new Amazon bestseller, Little Miss Perfect.
Melissa Fino, MSW is a Perfectionism Coach for Women Business Owners and Founder of the #LoveYourLifeCommunity.
.
Participants of this event also received an an autographed copy of Little Miss Perfect.

We had a great time talking with Melinda Huff, swimwear designer and female founder of Mirame Swim. (MIRAME means "look at me" in Spanish!) It was terrific learning about Melinda's creative female founder journey, her gorgeous Mirame Swim swimwear and athletic wear line and how different swimwear styles work for different body types. It was also empowering to share "girl talk" about how radical self love should dominate when choosing the swimsuit that is right for our different and beautiful body shapes and sizes. Participants received an exclusive copy of the Mirame Style Guide and a special discount offer toward the Mirame line that can be worn both in and out of the water.
Thank you, Melinda, for helping us all dive in to summer in style!
Covid-19 Life has left many of us feeling stuck, in need of a regroup and in need of focus.
In essence, we all need a pandemic pivot? We gathered on June 30, 2020 for a virtual workshop to talk about You & 2020: Reimagined.
When we were excited for the start of a new decade who could have imagined that after a few months we would be in quarantine due to a global pandemic and then confront social justice protests?
Most of us started 2020 with bright hopes, optimistic plans and exciting dreams. We all started the year planning something,,,maybe it was a career pivot or a personal-life transition. Whether our vision was crystal clear or just coming in to focus, we had hopes and goals and plans.
Wherever we were then is likely different now.
We gathered to reimagine the possibilities again and reignite our passion for making things happen. We talked about our collective need to make a pandemic pivot for career and personal transition.
JeanAnn Morgan, Founder of Women Kick Glass and JAM Creative Communications, and Sarah Wahiba Senan, Life & Leadership Coach, discussed how to take a mindful approach to reinvigorating passions and understanding one's personal brand mission. We talked about why our “Why” is now more important than ever and how it can be a North Star to help guide us through good and troubling times. We talked about how we wanted to feel coming out of these months of quarantine and how to find clarity on a reimagined vision for the remainder of 2020 starting from the inside out. We talked about how to find clarity on those feelings that can shape your life reimagined. Thank you to all of the bold and brave women who joined!
It was a fun discussion for all.

On Sunday, May 3, 2020 we hosted our first virtual Women Kick Glass Female Founder and Entrepreneur Meet & Greet & Sip & Shop. We were joined by some of our Female Founder and Entrepreneur friends who shared their stories and showcased their very special product lines to more than 50 women participants who sipped a beverage of choice in the comfort of home.
It was a fun "night out but in" in our new normal of social distancing.

The table was set for another inspiring, dynamic (and this time delicious!) Women Kick Glass event in New York City on November 13, 2019. It was incredibly exciting to spend the evening in the Epicured SoHo Test Kitchen where a highly-engaged and empowered group of women gathered to cook, eat, sip, talk and network to forge connections, make new contacts and build community. This time we gathered to cook, eat and chat about healthy food and the impact good nutrition has on women's health and wellness.
I am honored to have linked arms with incredible women for this amazing Women Kick Glass event. Thank you to my talented friend, Jeanne Petrucci, RDN and Founder of Living Plate for leading such an inspiring and educational discussion about gut health and for her delectable recipes designed to make the science of food delicious. Thank you to Renee Cherkezian, Co-Founder of Epicured and to Jaime Haak of Epicured who so graciously welcomed us into their beautiful SoHo space and prepared the most incredible dishes and cocktails for us to enjoy. Thank you too to Claire Crispo who made every detail just perfect and was a joy to work with! Thank you to my incredible friend, Leslie Minsch who always rolls up her sleeves to help and makes everything super fun along the way. Thank you as well to my friend Angela James who captured the many beautiful images of the many beautiful women in attendance. And...thank you to all the brave and beautiful women who attended and brought their energy and positive vibes to the party. It was another inspiring, empowering and energizing evening indeed!
